| I put a lot of time into my dogs and puppies. When we have new puppies, they along with mom are raised in playpens for the first few weeks, they are in whatever room I am in, We have playpens all over our house. LOL At night they are next to my bed in their playpen so if there are any problems I am right there. I also work a full time job, but when I go to work, my mommies and puppies go with me. I have a wonderful boss(who is also my mom)LOL that lets me turn our kitchen into the nursery. So once again, they are close to me. I can honestly say, my mommies and puppies are with me 24/7. When puppies get old enough and have had shots, they are moved to an exercise pen to have more room. At this stage we start socializing them as I feel this is important for the puppies. My customers love to come in and see the puppies and hold and love them and the puppies love it too. It helps for having a very happy and outgoing puppy. When we go places, our puppies are crated and taken with us. I have 9 adult Chihuahuas that live in our house with us and sleep in our bed. I couldn't imagine it any other way. We just purchased a new manufactured home and I had them lay vinyl through most of the house just for our dogs. My husband thinks I am crazy. My daughter and Husband help a lot with the dogs and puppies, including delivery. My daughter is 11 years old and already has her heart set on becoming a veterinarian so she can care for my dogs.
Your puppy is up to date on all shots and wormings before going home, I usually do not let them leave us until 9 to 12 weeks old depending on how well they are eating. We have a select few who are a little shy or scared and I try to keep them a little longer to help them with socializing.
I remove all dew claws on the puppies the day they are born and we litterbox train all our puppies. You will receive weekly updates and pictures of your new puppy also. I honestly believe in working with my customers, if you want a puppy from us, but can't afford the price, I will work with you on payment arrangements if I feel it is a good home for the puppy. I will even hold a puppy longer if you need me to as long as it is within a reasonable time frame. I do dog sit for all my customers which people love to have that option when they want or need to take a trip and can't take their puppy or dog with them. I enjoy seeing them and having the chance to play and enjoy them once again. I have many returning customers because they are amazed at how open and outgoing their puppy is and how much time I put into raising my dogs and puppies.
Your will receive the AKC papers on your puppy the day you pick your puppy up, there is no waiting as I feel that you shouldn't have to wait. I register my litters within 3 weeks of birth and it usually takes 2 weeks at the most to get the papers from AKC.
We hand make no sew blankets or snuggle bags out of fleece so you get a blanket to take your new puppy home in. You will also receive their up to date shot records and worming records. A toy will also go home with them along with a sample bag of food that I am feeding. I have put together a folder for you to take also which has wonderful information in it including the parents pedigrees, some of my favorite books to read on chihuahuas, a step by step guide with photos on how to cut toe nails, so info on potty training and crate training if you decide to do that. It is full of other great information that I feel is important for you and your puppy.
These wonderful little companions are my life along with my family, I rearrange my schedule around them. I barely take any vacations, unless my dogs can come with me. It is wonderful now because we moved to 20 acres on the river with a huge park like setting so I don't need to escape from home, I love it here with my family of both human and furkids.
